Position Title:

Human Resources Assistant

Position summary:

Compile and keep personnel records. Record data for each employee, such as address, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on ability, and date of and reason for termination. Compile and type reports from employment records. File employment records. Search employee files and furnish information to authorized persons.

Tasks:

  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
  • Gather personnel records from other departments or employees.

Experience And Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Over 1 year, up to and including 2 years

 

Candidate must obtain Human Resources Assistant certification within six (6) months of hire through company-sponsored training and development program. For consideration, all candidates must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes: skills assessment, drug & alcohol screening, interview, etc...
